FEC approve thirty billion Naira intervention fund for mining exploration in Nigeria.

The Minister of Mining and Steel Development, KAYODE FAYEMI, made this known at the end of the FEC meeting presided over by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI.

The Minister of Solid Minerals alongside the Minister of Information LAI MOHAMMED and Transportation Minister, CHIBUIKE AMAECHI, briefed journalists over the resolution of the council.

FAYEMI said the council deliberated on the importance of inter-ministerial coordination and synergy with the ministries of transportation, power, works and housing as well as environment on safer mining practices.

The Minister added that the mining ministry would also work with that of health ?to help build a multi-sectorial focus on mining and also encourage private sector investment.

On his part, Minister of Transportation ROTIMI AMAECHI, hinted that the Council approved a negotiation with General Electric towards contracting the railways across Nigeria.

AMAECHI said the type of railways to be contracted would assist the agriculture and mining ministries in the transportation of extracted minerals.

AMAECHI while explaining the need for effective inter ministerial co-operation outlined the Railways to be refurbished.
