Dickson Laments PDP Crisis, Says Jonathan ‘Must Be Sad’ Party Is ‘Killed and Buried’

Senator Seriake Dickson has expressed dissatisfaction over the ongoing crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stating that former President Goodluck Jonathan “must be sad” about the party’s current state.

Dickson, who recently defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), said the PDP — which produced three presidents since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999 — has been “killed and buried.”

Speaking weeks after leaving the party, the Bayelsa-born senator was asked whether he consulted Jonathan before making the move. In response, Dickson said he was not speaking on behalf of the former president but noted that Jonathan would likely be disappointed.

“What I can say is that President Jonathan, while I’m not his spokesman, must be very sad,” Dickson stated.
