Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers says he is eager to return to competitive action after spending several months on the sidelines with injury.
The 31-year-old sustained the injury during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, a setback that ruled him out for the remainder of the season. He has now resumed training with Greek club Panathinaikos ahead of the new campaign.
Dessers expressed confidence that he will regain full fitness before the start of the Greek Super League season in mid-August and hopes to feature in the club’s European qualifying matches during pre-season.
The Nigerian international also said he is determined to repay the faith shown in him by Panathinaikos and its supporters after the club signed him from Rangers last summer, following a debut season disrupted by injuries.
