PETERSIDE’s criticism is against the backdrop of the revelation by the Federal Government that the Rivers State Government received over one hundred billion naira in the last five months, including thirty-four billion naira of the Paris Club Loan Refund, which is one of the highest collected by any state.
In a statement by the Dakuku Adol Peterside Media Office, the Rivers APC chieftain said Governor WIKE has excuse for non performance, which he said had been the hallmark of his administration.
He noted that Governor WIKE has abandoned his obligation in view of prevailing insecurity, inability to pay pensioners, forced retrenchment of some staff of some agencies, non employment of Rivers youth, and has been brandishing projects executed by the immediate past administration and trying to claim credit for same.
The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency called on Governor WIKE to listen to Rivers people and make his administration open and transparent for citizens to know what accrues the state and how their commonwealth is being utilized.
