The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the dismissal and prosecution of Assistant Superintendent of Police, Nuhu Usman, over the killing of a suspect in Effurun, Delta State.
The decision followed a review by the Force Disciplinary Committee, which found the officer acted in violation of established rules on the use of firearms.
The police leadership reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on abuse of power and extrajudicial actions.
