REHABILITATED YOUTHS PLEDGE NEW BEGINNING IN PORT HARCOURT

Ten individuals formerly involved in social vices say they have turned a new leaf following a six-month rehabilitation programme organised by the Youth Rescue International Development Organization.

The declaration was made during a joint graduation ceremony of the 27th Jos and 28th Port Harcourt sets in Port Harcourt, where the graduates pledged to abstain from substance abuse, crime, and gang activities.

Family members at the event recounted emotional experiences of hardship prior to the transformation of their loved ones.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, Nature Dumale Kieghe, said the initiative is focused on helping more young people abandon crime through counselling, mentorship, and faith-based rehabilitation, adding that plans are underway to establish a rehabilitation centre for women.

An official of the NDLEA, Adeniyi Dinebimo Grace, urged the graduates to remain steadfast and avoid relapsing into прежvious lifestyles.

The event attracted participants from security agencies and religious organisations.
