One of the leaders of the pro-ATSUWETE is ANYAKWE NSIRIMOVU of the Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.

Our correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that members of the Civil Society community in Rivers State were joined by their counterparts from Bayelsa State.

The protesters first marched to the Headquarters of the Rivers State Police Command to register their grievance over the assassination of KEN ATSUWETE at Aluu community in Ikwerre Local Government Area.

They were addressed by the State Police Command Headquarters; FRANCIS ODESANYA who assured that the police under his watch would ensure that the killers of KEN ATSWUETE and their sponsors are made to face justice.

From the Police Command Headquarters on Moscow Road, the pro-ATSUWETE demonstrators marched to the State Headquarters of the Department of State Security Service also within Old GRA in Port Harcourt.

That was where the Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, IBIM SEMENITARI told newsmen that the demonstration would stop at all institutions in the state to mount pressure on the authorities to speed up investigation of KEN ATSUWETE’s assassination

After the stop at the DSS secretariat; the civil society demonstrators marched to the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt.

But after waiting for at the gate for a while without any official coming out to address them, the demonstrators decided to move.

It may interest you to note that the demonstrators were all dressed in black attire as they marched through the streets of Old GRA in Port Harcourt.

It may interest you to note that the civil society protesters are separate from the group that addressed a media briefing in Port Harcourt yesterday.
