The Council of Chiefs of the Buoye Omuso Brown Group of Houses has condemned last weekend’s attack on the residence of the Amadabo of Finima, Aseme Alabo Dagogo Lambert Brown, which left several people injured and one person reportedly losing an arm.
Chairman of the Council of Chiefs, Alabo Inima Dickson Brown, made the position known during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, where he expressed concern over the growing tension in the community.
He said the Amadabo-in-Council had earlier warned about the dangers associated with a faction of the Tobin Chieftaincy House proceeding with a parallel Opu-Ogbo.
According to him, the faction proceeded with the event despite an ongoing police investigation and repeated warnings against actions capable of disrupting peace in the community.
Alabo Brown also identified some of those injured in the attack and mentioned individuals allegedly linked to the incident at the Amadabo’s residence.
He called on the Inspector-General of Police and other security agencies to urgently intervene, restore peace in Finima and ensure that anyone found culpable is prosecuted in accordance with the law.
