GEORGE MICHAEL reportedly died peacefully on Christmas Day in Goring, Oxfordshire at the fifty-three-year.
In a statement announcing the death of the singer, his publicist said his family request that their privacy be respected at the difficult and emotional time.
GEORGE MICHAEL launched his music career with Wham Band in the 1980s and also recorded huge success as a solo performer.
A former band mate ANDREW RIDGELEY said he was heartbroken at the loss of his beloved friend, while Sir ELTON JOHN said he was in deep shock.
