DIRI made the accusation while briefing newsmen in Yenegoa the Bayelsa state capital.
The PDP chieftain said it was against the constitution of the federal Republic of Nigerian for the Army to be part of the electoral process in the country.
The PDP candidate further called on the international community and all lovers of democracy to come to the aid of Bayelsa state.
Our correspondent SANDRA KENNETH reports that the Governor of Bauchi state BALA MOHAMMED was also at the press briefing and called on the Independent National Electoral commission to ensure the right thing is done while calling on the PDP supporters to remain calm.
