The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Bayelsa State has expressed condolences to its Vice Presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, following the death of his mother, Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi, who died at the age of 89.
In a statement issued on behalf of the party’s Interim Executive Committee and members, the Bayelsa State Leader of the ADC, Captain Mathew Karimo, described her death as a profound loss to the Amaechi family, the Catholic community and the people of Ubima in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Karimo said the late matriarch played a significant role in shaping the values and character of her children, noting that her legacy was reflected in the public service of her son, the former Rivers State Governor and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi. He urged the family to draw strength from God during the period of mourning and prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul, while assuring that the Bayelsa ADC would stand with the family throughout the burial process.
