A grenade attack has killed three people at a bar in the Burundian capital, Bujumbura.
Police said the attack happened late on Monday in the Bwiza neighborhood, adding that those killed include a senior police officer, a lawyer and a civil servant.
Witnesses said the attackers used a motorbike to get to the scene and to flee after the explosion at the bar, which is mostly visited by supporters of President PIERRE NKURUNZIZZA.Burundi has been at the verge of a civil war following the escalation of political violence that erupted in April last year, after President NKURUNZIZZA declared for a third term, which he has since secured through a disputed election.
