The Senate resolved to mandate a panel to investigate MAIKANTI BARU over sundry allegations raised by the Petroleum Minister in his petition to the President, in which he accused the NNPC Group Managing Director of insubordination among other wrongdoings.
The Senate panel is also to review a new policy introduced by the NNPC Trading Limited, which is a subsidiary of the Oil Corporation, as well as unilateral award of contracts running into billions of dollars.
Ruling on the motion moved by Senator SAM ANYANWU of the PDP from Imo State, the Senate President BUKOLA SARAKI named Senator ALIU WAMAKKO as Chairman of the panel.
