Sallah Day :Pres Buhari,Dogara sends goodwill message.

President BUHARI said the fervent and sincere prayers from Nigerians across religious, political and ethnic divides, has energised him to the task of building a great Nigeria.

 

 

The President’s appreciation was contained in his goodwill message on the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir celebration by Muslims, in which he congratulated Nigerian Muslims who are currently in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj.

 

 

According to a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, President BUHARI said the joyous occasion provides an opportunity for all Nigerians to rise against the odds, keep their prejudices aside and strengthen the bonds of friendship and unity.

 

 

The President expressed his sincere believe that the nation can make rapid progress on all fronts if Nigerians re-enact the exemplary virtues displayed by the Prophet Ibrahim, through his sacrifice, patience, steadfastness, generosity and obedience to Allah’s command and constituted authority.

 

 

He enjoined Nigerians to see themselves as brothers and sisters from the same heritage, who must understand that family tie is like a tree, which although could be bent but cannot be broken.

 

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, YAKUBU DOGARA, has sued for unity and tolerance as Muslims mark Eid el-Kabir.

 

 

DOGARA maintained that Nigeria can achieve greatness if all the people remain together and show respect and love for one another.

 

 

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, TURAKI HASSAN, the Speaker said the celebration was a moment for sober reflections.

 

 

He urged Muslims to use the period to uphold the spiritual benefit of the celebration by extending friendship and solidarity across all divides, while imbibing the spirit of sacrifice and obedience to the higher authority as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and upheld by Prophet Muhammed.

 

 

In more goodwill messages; the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria appealed to all Nigerians to be self-disciplined and law abiding in order to achieve the desired development for the nation.

 

 

The TUC President, BOBBOI BALA KAIGAMA acknowledged that there were challenges confronting Nigerians, which he said was common to other nations of the world, and could be overcome by selfless sacrifices and working together.
