Two men in their early twenties are among fifteen suspected criminals paraded at the headquarters of the Rivers State Police Command in Port Harcourt today.
Twenty-year-old SAMUEL NWANKWO and twenty-three-year-old EYO SAMUEL and the other suspects are accused of crimes ranging from cultism, kidnapping and arm robbery. The State Commissioner of Police, MUSA KIMO, while parading the suspects, assured that the command under his watch would be more proactive and take the fight against crimes to the hideouts of criminals. C.P. KIMO also said some of the kidnappers were fatally injured in a gun duel with the police. Some of the suspects who spoke to newsmen explained how they got into trouble with the police.
Correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that three AK-47 rifles, one Assault rifle, one hundred and five rounds of live ammunition were among items recovered from the suspects. The fifteen suspects were arrested in different parts of Rivers State over the past seven days.
