Still battling to clear doubts about revealing of classified information to Russia’s Foreign Minister, President TRUMP is now alleged to have asked the FBI to drop an inquiry into links between his former National Security Adviser and Russia.
President TRUMP is alleged to have made the request to former FBI chief JAMES COMEY who was sacked by the White House last week in controversial circumstances.
TRUMP is quoted by US media as having told COMEY to let go the inquiry into MICHAEL FLYNN after a White House meeting in February.
Details of the interaction were contained in a memo that was written immediately after the meeting, a day after MICHAEL FLYNN resigned.
But the White House has denied the allegation in a statement, explaining that the President has never asked COMEY or anyone else to end any investigation, including any investigation involving General FLYNN.
In the meantime; the Chairman of the US House of Representatives Oversight Committee, JASON CHAFFETZ, has called for the FBI to hand over all relevant documents relating to communications between COMEY and the President within a week.
