A meeting has been called for today between the management of the National Assembly and the leadership of the Press Corp to try and resolve the issue.
But the Leader of the Senate Press Corp said the boycott would continue if there was no positive outcome from the meeting.
In his response, the spokesman of the Senate, Senator SABI ABDULLAHI denied that the Senate’s action was intended to restricting press freedom.
Senator ABDULLAHI confirmed that the Clerk of the Senate had restricted some cameramen from covering the Senate because of interference.
The Senate’s spokesman expressed the hope that there would be a breakthrough in ongoing discussions for a better working environment.
Senator SABI ABDULLAHI is the spokesman for the Nigerian Senate.
