Aggrieved workers of Integrated Data Service have sealed the company’s premises located at Isiokpo in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. Our correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that the aggrieved workers used raffia leaves to tie around the company premises as a sign of dispute. The aggrieved workers took the action in protest over poor condition of service. Some of the respondents said the company has refused to separate their operational salary from allowances, which make them go home with eighteen thousand naira as monthly pay. Also speaking, the chairman of the IDSL junior staff, COLLINS MONDAY accused the company’s top officials of using divide and rule tactics, alleging that money meant for field workers is usually diverted for personal pockets.
The government representative officer of the company, JOSEPH JAMES WERRE said he has written to the company on the need to intervene on the demands of the workers considering the hazards of the job.
