Agriculture Boss confirms strain of bird flu in parts of Nigeria.

Chief AUDU OGBE said the virus has spread to twenty-six states and the Federal Capital Territory, adding that over three point five million birds have been affected.

He noted that neighbouring countries have proposed a ban on poultry and poultry products from Nigeria in order to prevent the disease from entering their country.

The minister made this known in Abuja, after a consultative meeting with state commissioners for agriculture, states directors of veterinary services and major stakeholders in the poultry industry.
