The Director of Public Relations and Information of the Air Force, Group Captain AYODELE FAMUYIWA disclosed in a statement that the Agusta Westland 101 helicopter crashed while taxing after a successful mission.
The Nigerian Air Force spokesman said the incident happened last week on the tarmac at the Thirty-Three Logistics Group in Makurdi, Benue State.
He said the Nigerian Air Force has since set-up a board of officers to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the incident.
Group Captain FAMUYIWA said the seven-man board is headed by Air Vice Marshal EMMANUEL ANEBI.
He also assured that the outcome of the investigation would be communicated to the public as soon as the Board concludes its assignment.
