Stakeholders in Khana Local Government have declared that there is no recognised traditional stool known as the Mene Bua Bori.
The position was contained in a communiqué read by former Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Leyii Kwanee, after a stakeholders’ meeting convened by the Chairman of Khana Local Government, Dr. Thomas Bariere.
The leaders also warned politicians against recruiting or sponsoring armed civilians ahead of future elections, stressing that anyone responsible for breaching the peace would face the full weight of the law.
They expressed concern over the absence of some government-recognised traditional rulers from official engagements, describing the situation as detrimental to the area’s development.
On security, the stakeholders maintained that Khana was not facing widespread insecurity but clashes among rival criminal groups, while commending security agencies for ongoing operations against criminal elements.
