Australia offers to help South East Asian countries to check terror attacks.

Prime Minister MALCOLM TURNBULL is looking to expand Australia’s counter-terrorism arrangements with Indonesia, Malaysia and other neighbouring countries.

TURNBULL is to discuss details of the security support with other leaders at the regional Asean summit in Laos.

The move comes after the so-called Islamic State threatened what it called “lone wolf” attacks in Sydney and Melbourne.

The Australian authorities are treating the threat as a serious issue following losses suffered by the Islamic State on battlefields in Iraq and Syria.
