The South-South National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Victor Giadom, has called on old students of Saint Pius the Tenth College to come together and support the school in improving its learning facilities.
Giadom made the appeal shortly after receiving the Saint Joseph the Builder Award for his outstanding contributions to the Church and support for the underprivileged. The award was presented by Saint Patrick Catholic Church, Bodo City, in Gokana Local Government Area.
Speaking as an alumnus of Saint Pius the Tenth College, which is now owned by the Missionaries, Giadom noted that the school requires support from its former students, many of whom have achieved success in their respective fields.
He further urged clergymen and pastors to actively participate in peace-building initiatives, emphasizing the critical role of religious leaders in fostering a better society.
The former Rivers State Commissioner for Works also praised the Parish Priest, Reverend Father Nubari Poroma, and expressed gratitude to the Church for the honour bestowed on him.
