Some top fertilizer companies in Nigeria have also been indicted for allegedly sabotaging national security and the economy.
The fertilizer companies are accused of serving as conduit through which insurgents, including the Boko Haram terrorists and Niger Delta militants, obtain explosive materials for their destructive operations.
This revelations were made by the National Security Adviser, retired Major General BABAGANA MONGUNO, during a meeting with representatives of local manufacturers of fertilizers.
MONGUNO warned that the Federal Government would no longer tolerate a situation where the security and economy of the country is threatened by the unpatriotic actions of fertilizers manufacturing companies.
He also said investigations into the incessant bombing of oil facilities in the Niger Delta shows that commercial explosives and accessories were used for such attacks.
He said the actors, including the store man of a major explosives distribution company in Nigeria and five security operatives have been arrested and handed over to the appropriate authorities.
