State Chairman of NUT, LUCKY NKPOGONE made the demand in a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting of the executive council of the union in Port Harcourt.
LUCKY NKPOGONE said the union feels disappointed by a statement purportedly made by the State Head of Service, claiming that teachers whose biometric data have been captured have all been paid.
He expressed sadness that about eighty percent of teachers who have completed the biometric exercise are yet to receive their salaries.
The NUT Chairman said the union has no issues with Governor NYESOM WIKE for initiating the biometric the verification exercise.
The NUT chairman also observed that teachers who are being paid their salaries have had monies deducted from them without any explanation.
