A farmer who spoke on behalf of the farmers in the area, told Todayfm’s Paul Chimodo that early harvesting is affecting their means of livelihood.
The farmer also expressed fear that the decision to move people to higher land is impossible, adding that the entire area is always flooded.
On his part, the president of Engenni youth assembly, Onem Okenya, called on government to provide permanent solution to the issue of flood, as continuous provision of palliative and make shift camps for the people will only deepen poverty.
