A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt and presided over by Justice Emmanuel Obile, had in its judgment on a suit filed by the PDP, disqualified Patrick Tonye-Cole as the governorship candidate of the APC, for allegedly having dual citizenship and that the APC violated the electoral act in the conduct of the Congress and primary election that brought in Tonye-Cole.
Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that when the matter came up before Appeal Court, counsels representing the parties argued and adopted their final written addresses.
The three man panel of the appeal led by Justice Joseph Ikyegh after listening to the argument from the legal representatives, reserved judgment on a date that will be communicated to parties.
One of the Counsels to the APC, Chimenem Jerome explained to Today FM, the two appeals that came up in court and the reasons for the appeal.
