You would recall that Rivers State Governor Nyesom had in a State Broadcast announced the reopening of markets except for the Slaughter and Oil mill markets.
Our correspondent Uchendu Ejiowhor who monitored activities on the resumption of markets reports that instead of fully engaging in business activities, businessmen and women were seen cleaning in and around the markets.
While some traders who spoke off record to our correspondent insisted that it was the responsibility of the government to clean and fumigate the markets for business activities, another said the government cannot reopen markets and still be given the conditions upon which it would operate.
