Zenith Labour Party Conducts Primary Ahead of Local Government Elections in Rivers State

Samuel Wilcox-Dulenfor who spoke to newsmen after emerging as the Chairmanship candidate of Zenith Labour Party for Degema Local government Area, said the party was not disturbed with the litigation initiated by the All Progressive Congress, APC, suspending the process.

Wilcox-Dulenfor who spoke on the security situation in Degema Area, blamed past council Chairmen for failing to ensure infrastructural and human capacity development, which he said will put an end to all forms in insecurity experienced in the area.

Wilcox-Dulenfor further identified key areas of concentration to include; Morden infrastructure, education and security to help restore the dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers of Degema Local government.

In an interview with Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor, the State Chairman of the party, Ben Ogbobula, who expressed optimism that the forthcoming council elections will not be business as usual following assurance by governor Siminalayi Fubara and RSIEC Chairman, Adolphus Enebeli, tasked security agencies to play by the rules before, during and after the elections.

Today fm’s correspondent reports that primary elections for the local government elections scheduled for 5th of October, 2024 has been concluded and submission of candidates has commenced ahead of campaigns.

This is happening despite the interim injunction against INEC, restraining them from releasing voters card for the elections and security agencies from providing security for the elections.
