WAEC Temporarily Suspends 2025 WASSCE Result Portal Over Technical Glitches

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has temporarily suspended access to its result check portal for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) due to technical glitches.

According to WAEC, the issues were discovered during an internal review of the recently released results. The body explained that as part of its efforts to curb examination malpractice, it introduced paper serialisation in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and Economics.

While apologising to affected candidates and the public, WAEC advised those who had previously checked their results to re-check after 24 hours.

Meanwhile, some parents in Rivers State have expressed concern over what they described as the poor performance of students in this year’s WASSCE. They attributed the situation to the rot in the education sector, citing inadequate funding, shortage of qualified teachers, and poor infrastructure. A number of parents also blamed poor parenting for worsening the problem.
