Reports say the police officers were removed because of their alleged links with United States-based Muslim cleric, FETHULLAH GULEN, who is accused of sponsoring the coup.
The latest purge in the police adds to about one hundred thousand so civil servants who have been dismissed or suspended since failed coup in July.
