President Bola Tinubu has assured that Nigeria’s refineries will be revived following a comprehensive structural and operational reset.
The President said the facilities must become profitable and capable of delivering greater value to the Nigerian economy.
Tinubu gave the assurance in Abuja when he received the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, led by its National President, Salimon Akanni Oladiti, at the State House.
The President said the Federal Government would adopt an evidence-based approach to addressing the challenges confronting the nation’s refineries.
He explained that the approach would involve detailed research, technical assessments, restructuring and improved management of the facilities.
Tinubu stressed the need to ensure that the country’s refineries operate efficiently and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s economic development.
