The United Kingdom is to send dozens of troops to Somalia to help in ongoing peacekeeping efforts against Al-Shabab Islamic militants.
UK Prime Minister, DAVID CAMERON announced that up seventy military personnel will join a United Nations contingent that is giving support to African Union troops in Somalia. CAMERON disclosed that up to three hundred troops could also be deployed in South Sudan over time. The British Prime Minister is expected to make the pledge at the United Nations General Assembly summit in New York. The gestured by the UK is intended to help curb migrants traveling to Europe.
