The substantive Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice DAISY OKOCHA has been promised to complete ongoing reforms in the judiciary before her retirement.
Justice OKOCHA renewed her commitment to the exercise after her swearing-in yesterday as substantive Chief Judge.The inauguration of Justice OKOCHA was performed by Governor NYESOM WIKE at the Executive Council Chamber of the Government House in Port Harcourt.In his remarks, Governor WIKE promised to avoid any action that could jeopardize the rule of law in the state.The Governor also explained that the appointment of Justice OKOCHA was based on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council.Our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports that the swearing-in of the Rivers State Chief Judge was witnessed by members of the State Executive Council, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and some senior lawyers in the state.
