The Special Adviser to the Rivers State Governor on Media and Publicity, OPUNABO INKO-TARIAH, has resigned his appointment. There are indications that INKO-TARIAH may not have resigned out of his own free will.He has been under pressure based on comments disparaging the judiciary, for which Governor NYESOM WIKE had publicly disowned.INKO-TARIAH’s resignation also comes three days after the opposition APC in Rivers State asked Governor NYESOM WIKE not to stop at disowning his comments but to sack him.He had accused the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal and the Supreme Court of judicial gang-up against Governor WIKE over the nullification of his election victory. However; a report citing OPUNABO INKO-TARIAH’s resignation letter said he complained about his office being starved of funds for the five months that he served. He also complained that Governor WIKE ignored professional advice given to him.INKO-TARIAH’s telephone lines have not been accessible to personally confirm the development.Meanwhile; the Rivers APC has said OPUNABO INKO-TARIAH is courageous to have dumped the PDP Government led by Governor NYESOM WIKE.In a statement released by the State Publicity Secretary of the APC, CHRIS FINEBONE, the party said it was only a matter of time before all well-meaning proud sons and daughters of Rivers State who find themselves in WIKE’s government would abandon him.
