The Nigerian Army says it has set free one hundred and eighty-two Boko Haram suspects from Maimalari Barracks in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The Nigerian Army says it has set free one hundred and eighty-two Boko Haram suspects from Maimalari Barracks in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.A report says forty boys, twenty-four women, one hundred adult men and eighteen children prisoners were released to the state governor over the weekend.The Army spokesman, Colonel SANI USMAN said that the joint intelligence committee authorised the release of the prisoners after investigation.
Colonel USMAN said the release was part of activities of Nigeria’s National Army Day, which commemorates the first shots that were fired during the Nigeria Civil War at Garken in Cross River State.USMAN also said the army would provide two days of free medical treatment for Borno State residents, and award Purple Heart and Operation Zaman Lafiya medals to soldiers fighting Boko Haram.
