The Social and Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP has petitioned the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights, asking him to use his office to urgently request the Nigerian Senate to withdraw the proposed amendments of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Code of Conduct Tribunal Acts.In its petition to the UN, SERAP said the amendments would seriously weaken the acts, undermine the fight against corruption in the country, worsen extreme poverty and violate internationally recognized human rights.
