The Commissioner for Health, THEOPHILUS ODAGME said the Lassa fever drug was received from the Federal Ministry of Health.
ODAGME, who gave this indication in Port Harcourt while giving a situation report on the Lassa fever outbreak in Rivers State, said the Health Ministry commenced the distribution of the drugs to hospital free of charge.The Commissioner further disclosed that a suspected case that had been under observation turned out negative after an elaborate test was conducted on him.THEOPHILUS ODAGME said there is no positive case of Lassa fever so far, adding that the Health Ministry is still monitoring primary and secondary contacts.
