The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, FATOU BENSOUDA, has blamed interference for the dismissal of the case of crimes against humanity against Kenya’s Deputy President, WILLIAM RUTO.

Her position is against the backdrop of seventeen witnesses changing their mind about testifying in the trial, having initially decided to take the stand.
Speaking out for the first time since the dismissal of the case against RUTO and a broadcaster JOSHUA ARAP SANG, BENSOUDA said victims of the post-2007 election violence have been denied justice. The ICC Prosecutor said it was possible to bring up the charges again in the future if new evidence emerged.
