The People’s Democratic Party has opened its defense before the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja. The Rivers PDP is the third respondent in the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate, DAKUKU PETERSIDE, challenging the election of Governor NYESOM WIKE. At the resumed hearing today; counsel to the PDP presenting incidence forms and other documents used for the governorship election on 11th of April.
Our Abuja correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that panel of judges led by Justice SULEIMAN AMBRUSSO acknowledged the documents, although counsel to the petitioners noted that he would reserve his objection to the admissibility of the documents along with his final address.
Meanwhile; the Court had to adjourn for one hour to enable the PDP sort out other documents it intends to present before the tribunal in support of its defence.
