The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is meeting today to review some pressing issues. It is expected that the failed governorship primary of the party in Bayelsa State will top the agenda of the meeting.
You will recall that the primary last week Tuesday at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa was marred by violence. Although former governor, TIMIPRE SYLVA was reported to have won the party election, the national leadership of the APC announced that a new date will be set for a repeat primary. This was because the Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee for Bayels State; Governor ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE of Edo State, declared that the election did not hold. The development has since resulted to trading of accusation between Governor OSHIOMHOLE and TIMIPRE SYLVA. On his part; the former governor of Bayelsa State and APC governorship frontrunner accused OSHIOMHOLE of plotting to stop his ambition. The national leader of the APC is yet to announce a date for the rescheduled governorship primary for Bayelsa State.
