The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers has blamed the Federal Government for the prevailing insufficient supply of petroleum products across the nation.NUPENG President, IGWE ACHESSE said the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and major oil marketers should be held responsible for the problem hardship.Speaking in an interview with our correspondent JUDITH OKAFOR, ACHESSE denied allegations that NUPENG had been diverting petroleum products meant for public distribution.ACHESE further disclosed that he was not invited to witness the visit by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, IBE KACHUKWU, on inspection of the Port Harcourt Refinery.The NUPENG President accused the NNPC of engaging in diversion of products to private marketers.
IGWE ACHESE made a case for the inclusion of labour representative in the board of the Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency, PPPRA.
The NUPENG President warned that if necessary steps were not taken by the Federal Government, the fuel scarcity would continue.
