The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress has expressed confidence in the various election tribunals to deliver justice in petitions before them. Reacting to allegations of interference on election tribunals by the Peoples Democratic Party; the APC said it believes the tribunals to carry out their duties diligently and without fear or favor. In a statement released by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji LAI MOHAMMED, the APC asked the PDP to stop denigrating the judiciary by suggesting that tribunal judges can be influenced. LAI MOHAMMED said the said the PDP was throwing wild allegations against the Tribunals in Rivers and other states because it never won majority votes in those states in the first instance. He further suggested that the reason why the PDP is worried about the likely outcome of the tribunal cases in Rivers and other states of interest could be because they serve as the major source of funding for the opposition party.
