The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, IBE KACHUKWU says an emergency meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, has been called by some member states.KACHUKWU did not name the countries, but said the current market conditions, with the continuous plunging of prices of oil at the international market, create the need to hold such a gathering.The Nigerian Minister was speaking with reporters at an energy conference in Abu Dhabi, where he stressed that the objective of an emergency meeting would be to review OPEC’s policy for a possible change of strategy.
