The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has formally opened a criminal investigation against Chief RAYMON DOKPESI of Daar Communication. Chief DOKPESI is accused of conspiracy; money laundering and misappropriation of public funds. OKPESI was detained by the EFCC on Monday after funds meant for the purchase of military hardware for the Nigerian Armed Forces were traced to his personal account.
The monies were traced from the office of former National Security Adviser, SAMBO DASUKI, who is the main subject of the investigation covering the period from 2007 to the exit of the last PDP Administration in May this year. Speaking with newsmen after his ordeal with the EFCC, the media mogul said he was granted bail on the condition that he provides two directors in the Federal Civil Service as sureties and to also deposit his travel documents.
