The Code of Conduct Bureau has fixed the 9th of November for the arraignment of former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, GODSDAY ORUBEBE.The former minister is facing a four-count charge of breach of the Code of Conduct of Bureau and Tribunal Act.
The charges were filed on the 8th of October by PETER DANLADI of the Code of Conduct Bureau, on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation.
It is alleged that GODSDAY ORUBEBE made a false declaration of assets while serving as a Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria in charge of Niger Delta Affairs.
ORUBEBE is alleged to have concealed ownership of two plots of land within Kyamu District and Asokoro district of Abuja on assumption of office.
He is also alleged to have asked and accepted the sum of fifty million naira as bribe from one Pastor JONATHAN ALOTA, for a contract awarded in favour of Chemtronics Nigeria Limited.
GODSDAY ORUBEBE is also alleged to have received additional bribe of twenty million naira from Pastor ALOTA for a contract awarded also in favour Chemtronics Nigeria Limited for the construction of skill acquisition Centre in Edo State for the sum of over one billion, seven hundred and ninety nine million naira.
Details of the charges against GODSDAY ORUBEBE were contained in a statement released by the Head of Press and Public Relations of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, IBRAHEEM AL-HASSAN.
