The case filed on behalf of embattled former militant leader from the Ogoni axis of Rivers State, SOLOMON NDIGBARA against the Nigerian Army has been scheduled for definite hearing on Monday next week by a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.NDIGBARA dragged the Nigerian Army and the Chief of Army Staff before the court over alleged breach of his fundamental human rights and continued detention of his brothers identified as FRIDAY and SATURDAY.The ex-militant agitator is also challenging the harassment of other members of his family by the military, including his wife KATE NDIGBARA.Counsel to the applicant; GODWIN ONOS told the court that the military had continued to carry out activities at the hometown of his client in Yeghe in Gokana Local Government Area.But the legal representatives of the Nigerian Army, BENETH ENYI asked for extension of time to allow his clients respond to the motions before the court.In his ruling, Justice A.M. LIMAN said he could not hear the matter until the Army appears in court to explain the reason for the raids in Yeghe. Justice LIMAN also ordered the Nigerian Army to produce FRIDAY and SATURDAY NDIGBARA in court next week Monday when hearing is expected to begin on the matter. Speaking with our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA outside the courtroom, the lawyer to NDIGBARA family gave reasons for his demand for the release of his clients.You will recall that the Nigerian Army declared SOLOMON NDIGBARA wanted over alleged gunrunning.NDIGBARA has been in hiding ever since the first military raids at his homes in Yeghe and Ada George area of Port Harcourt.The military team that stormed Yeghe on Tuesday last week following a tip-off had an open confrontation with armed thugs, which resulted in a shootout and lose of lives and property in both Yeghe and nearby Bori town in Khana Local Government Area.
