Ahead of his return to office, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been urged to remain focused on governance and continue with the developmental strides of his administration.
Civil Rights Advocate, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, called on the governor not to allow the experience of the past six months to distract him. He also appealed to lawmakers in the state to set aside vindictiveness and work in partnership with the governor to achieve greater progress.
The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, Leader Sampson, similarly advised Fubara to prioritize the needs of ordinary citizens, noting that inclusive governance remains key to sustainable development.
In the same vein, the Convener of the Rivers Peace Initiative, Obinna Ebogidi, expressed hope that political actors in the state have drawn lessons from recent events. He further urged the governor to steer clear of crisis merchants and instead focus on consolidating peace and stability in the state.
