Some one hundred and forty-five Nigerians are now known to have died in the Hajj stampede near Mecca, in Saudi Arabia last month. The National Hajj Commission released the latest casualty figure yesterday, more than two weeks after the tragedy in Mina, Saudi Arabia on 24th of September. The Commissioner in charge of Planning, Research, Information and Library Services, SALEH OKENWA, told newsmen in Saudi Arabia that seven Nigerians are still on admission for treatment of injuries they sustained in the stampede. More than forty thousand, eight hundred Muslim pilgrims from Nigeria performed this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
