You will recall that former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, ABDULMUMIN JIBRIN, had accused the Speaker YAKUBU DOGARA, and three other principal officers in the house of inserting over forty billion naira into the 2016 budget, which the accused persons had denied.
However SERAP in its suit dated September 15, filed by a human right lawyer, FEMI FALANA, is asking the court to compel the EFCC to carry out its statutory responsibility of investigating and prosecuting financial crimes in Nigeria.
SERAP said the matter is presently generating a lot of public concern and discourse stressing that it is germane to Nigerians.
The group said the case is ought to be heard urgently in the interest of justice.
